BOXMATE, a project by Prof. Andreas Zeller, CISPA researcher and head of the group Software Engineering, his pdD student Konrad Jamrozik, and Philipp von Styp-Rekowsky, phD student of Prof. Michael Backes („Information Security and Cryptography “), receives the award “Landmarks 2016” in the initiative „Land of Ideas “.
The Initiative „Germany – land of ideas“ was founded by the German Federal Government and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in 2005, and aims to improve Germany’s image as a powerful innovator and a creative force. The competition „Landmarks in the land of ideas“ is part of this initiative. 2016 its theme is „CommUnityInnovation – a model for success “.
The price was awarded during the Open House at Saarland University, July 9, 2016, which attracted several thousand visitors. An interested audience including parents, potential students, and the general public could watch a live demonstration of BotMate, which is part of the BOXMATE project. Visitors could also gain insights into some other current research projects of CISPA.
